AI, or God’s Wisdom?
“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.” 1 John 5:21, NLT
Like it or not, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here.
- Governments are spending hundreds of billions of dollars on AI to be militarily prepared.
- Businesses are investing heavily into AI, assuming they must to remain competitive in their industry.
- Individuals worldwide are turning to AI for answers. “Search engines” are fast becoming “answer engines” that provide direct AI-generated answers.
Geoffrey Hinton, known as the Godfather of AI has been warning people about potential dangers of Artificial Intelligence. Of those dangers, we bring one to your attention:
It will become increasingly difficult to know what is true and what is false.
Beware of AI being used to deceive people into believing AI is THE source of truth. Don’t forget the name is Artificial Intelligence. A few words that describe artificial include fake, false, unnatural. Does that sound like a reliable source of truth, knowing it can be reprogrammed at any time to replace truth with lies and deceit? Many of AI’s answers are pretty accurate right now, but it would be wise to heed the Godfather of AI’s warning mentioned above.
In what, or in whom, will you place your trust and turn to for answers to life’s challenges? Will it be computer technology (AI), or will it be the living, loving God who created you?
“You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind…” Exodus 20:3-4, NLT
What Amazon is to the purchasing of products, AI is to the receiving of answers. Just as Amazon has made it easy to purchase products, AI has made it easy to get answers.
God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, is not interested in easy. He is interested in our devotion to Him. If we are fully devoted to Jesus, we can enjoy perfect peace amid this technological world.
“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” Isaiah 26:3-4, ESV
The future HOPE of upcoming generations will depend on which they trust the most to provide answers to life’s challenges: artificial Intelligence, or real godly wisdom.
The Bible is the trustworthy source of TRUTH for discovering the peace, joy, and purpose we all long for!
“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Proverbs 30:5, ESV
