This 30-page e-book is written primarily for those Gen Z's and Millennials who seek to set the example of civil conversation. It contains the main teachings of Christlike Dialogue. This short book only takes about an hour to read, but a lifetime to put into practice. May it equip you to engage in honest God-honoring conversations, especially with people who have opposing views.
There is a great need in America for people with opposing views to sit down and talk with each other to honestly discuss our differences with civility.
To communicate with civility includes being humble, polite, honest, respectful, mature, and courteous when responding to another human being created in the image of God.
In the Bible, these words were written by the Apostle Paul:
“Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.” Titus 3:1-2, ESV
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29, NIV
Our goal for this 30 page e-book is to prepare people to communicate with civility by engaging in Christlike dialogue. We define Christlike dialogue as honest conversation guided by the Holy Spirit and includes these four characteristics:
- Other-minded listening
- Seeking and speaking the truth in love
- Focusing on Christ’s interests
- Trusting God with the outcome
The only hope for America, and for every other nation, is that we turn to the one true Almighty God, acknowledge our need for Him, seek His wisdom, listen to Him and do what He says.
